Local Prostitution Bust Nets Murder Suspect in Michigan

Man Wanted For Alleged Drug House Shooting. Michigan police say wanted murder suspect is now in custody after an undercover prostitution sting on Monday.

According to Sheriff Warren Evans, Michigan officers arrested Ryan Patrick Davis, 25, early Monday morning after he solicited sex from an undercover Michigan sheriff's deputy.

Davis, of Detroit, Michigan was arrested along Michigan Avenue in southwest Detroit, Michigan by members of the sheriff's department's morality unit -- which enforces prostitution ordinances.

Michigan Police say Davis resisted officers, causing them to use pepper spray.

Davis was taken to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn for treatment, which he refused, according to police.

The suspect reportedly told officers his name was Walter Bruce, but after running his finger prints, police were able to confirm Davis's identity and that he was wanted by the Detroit, Michigan police for an execution-style shooting at a drug house, according to Local 4 reports.

Davis and an accomplice allegedly entered a known drug house at Walton Street on Oct. 21, 2001, and tried to collect on a drug debt. When the victim did not produce any money, Davis told him to get on his knees then shot him in the back of the head, according to police.

Police say Davis was also wanted by the Michigan Department of Corrections for violation of his parole from a 1996 conviction on charges of assault with intent to commit murder.

Davis is currently being held at the Wayne County, Michigan Jail.

He has been arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, assault and battery and solicitation resulting from the arrest.

Davis also faces new charges for parole violation and is awaiting arraignment on the murder charges.
